Director James Gunn's Man of Steel Lands on the Streaming Platform This Week

A mere 70 days following its big-screen premiere, the rebooted Superman is officially landing on the service this week.

Lead actor David Corenswet confirmed the big reveal on social media with a photo of his TV displaying the film on the platform's interface. He humorously mentioned actor Sara Sampaio with a nod to her character Eve Teschmacher, while the director shared the news on the platform formerly known as Twitter, stating the movie goes live on September 19th. The studio backed up the news shortly after in an official statement.

Special Themed Interface

To mark the film's streaming launch, the streaming service is launching a exclusive Superman-themed design filled with dynamic options. Fans will see Daily Planet-themed interface design, a Fortress of Solitude hub highlighting all things Superman, and hidden portals across the interface that take viewers into a Lex Luthor-themed zone.

Record-Breaking Performance

Superman surpassed key benchmarks during its run, including the biggest opening for a Superman movie to date. It surpassed Barbie in becoming part of the Two Million Watched Letterboxd club in just 45 days.

Upcoming Projects

While opinions are divided about its portrayal of the hero or even its ending, Superman has laid a strong foundation in the renewed DC lineup. A sequel titled Man of Tomorrow is in the works, with the returning lead and the iconic villain seemingly teaming up against an new adversary. The movie is scheduled to begin production in 2025 and release in theaters on July 9th, 2027.

For now, viewers can stream Superman on the platform starting this Friday, Sept. 19.
